Let’s say you are a researcher going to an archive to look at primary sources on a specific topic. You narrow your search by time and geographical location, then search through folders to find what you are looking for. After you are finished, an archivist may approach you with some suggestions for other folders you can look at, based on similarities in time period, location, topic, or theme. Their advice might lead you to exciting new sources and directions for your work.
